In order to significantly repair severe damage and transform dry, brittle hair into soft, glossy, and resilient hair, Hair Perfector was created using unique Olaplex Bond Building technology. Keratin, a fibrous protein, makes up hair and is bound together by bonds. Physical bonds between hydrogen and salt can be readily reformed by variations in pH, water, and/or heat. Chemical covalent links are known as disulfide bonds. Water cannot break these bonds. The structure, strength, and stability of hair are attributed to millions of disulfide connections. These disulfide bonds may be broken by heat styling, coloring, chemical treatments, brushing, tugging, or weather-related factors. Hair is harmed and may appear dry, frizzy, and brittle when these disulfide connections are destroyed.
