Voltaren is available as an injectable solution called an ampoule.  Diclofenac sodium, the active component, is present in 75 mg per ampoule.  Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a class of medications used to treat inflammation and pain, and Voltaren is one of them.  Injections into the muscles  The following problems are treated with Voltaren: gout attacks; gallstone or kidney pain; pain and swelling following surgery and traumas; severe migraine attacks; back pain syndrome; rheumatic crises and pains (arthritis); frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and other types of rheumatism.  Voltaren intravenous infusions are used to relieve or prevent post-operative pain.
