Silvadiazin 1% Cream 50G

Patients with second- and third-degree burns frequently utilize silver sulfadiazine 50g cream, a topical antimicrobial drug, as an adjuvant to prevent and cure wound infections.  It is used in conjunction with other therapies to help prevent and control infections in severe burn wounds. It is a member of the sulfa antibiotic class.  By preventing the growth of bacteria that could infect an open wound, silver sulfadiazine lowers the possibility that the infection will spread to nearby skin or enter the circulation, where it could cause life-threatening complications including sepsis.
